History

My great driving force in life is to inspire those who pursue their dreams, from my universe linked to wine, its environment and elaboration. That project started more than 20 years ago as a passion, until 2018 when I decided to leave my corporate job to dedicate myself professionally to this magical world. Consequently I reinvented myself at 42 years old and even though my previous knowledge and experience were a good support for my new life, it was key to have decision, drive and strength to achieve it. This is how Tintas & Tintos was born, a space for education and wine culture in Latin America, based in Guatemala and with alliances mainly in Mexico, Colombia and Miami.

Tintas & Tintos is an exchange corridor between vineyards, wineries and wine regions around the world and wine in Latin America. To achieve this, I continuously travel different routes and make exploratory trips to inspire me and to be able to enrich other people with my stories, through what I write.

I study in detail the environment and culture of each place to spread what I absorb around each route, not only to recommend a label but everything behind it. I consider that wine is not simply a liquid served in a glass, but also a land, hands that work it, a history and mainly a passion on the part of those who elaborate it. Just as a painter moves through his canvases and brushes until he achieves his art, a winemaker works day by day taking care of his terroir, his vines, his grapes and the whole winemaking process, until he achieves his masterpiece!

Ultimately, I seek to motivate those around me to awaken the same passion I feel for wine! Behind every label there is a story, families, generations and anecdotes that convey the true interest in the bottle that one day we will uncork!

FOUNDER

After more than 20 years of being responsible for communications and corporate relations for different companies and international organizations in 6 different countries, I came to Guatemala to pursue my passion and in March 2021 I launched a space for wine culture and education called "Tintas & Tintos".

Tintas & Tintos is the connection between several passions, such as art, literature, history, music, routes and gastronomy, combined with my experience in journalism, public affairs, marketing and planning major events.

In addition to organizing tastings and pairings involving different sensory experiences, I continuously travel to vineyards, wineries and wine regions around the world to write about them in traditional and digital media.

I am currently writing for the wine tourism section of the Colombian magazine
CavaSibarita.

I was born in Colombia and have lived and worked in England, the United States, Brazil, Mexico and Switzerland, where I obtained a Master's degree in Political Science and Economic Development from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva. I speak Spanish, my mother tongue, English, French and Portuguese, and work mainly in Guatemala. However, I also do tastings, pairing dinners and events in Mexico, Colombia and the United States.
